Programme Objectives and outcome of BA History
The study of Social sciences needs to help the learner understand social reality and equip them to react to social situations. The program BA History is primarily aims at introducing the fundamentals of historical knowledge in a wider range so as to equip the students with better understanding of society and historical processes. It also aims at exposing the spirit of research analysis, criticism, innovation and invention among the students. The important objectives of this programme are as following;
Programme Objectives:
a)Imparting intellectual skills to make the sense of the past.
b) Inculcating curiosity about past.
c) Develop the critical faculty of the students.
d) Developing an understanding of the presentness of the past.
e) Understand the basic themes, concepts, chronology and scope of Indian history.
Programme Outcomes:
a) Be acquaint the range of issues related Indian history, Kerala history and its distinctive areas
b) Understand the history of the countries other than India with comparative approach
c) Think and argue historically and critically in writing and discussion
d) Critically recognize the social, political, Economic and cultural aspects of History.
e) To study further in the applied field of History as Archaeology
f) Understand the recent trends in the historiography such as Total history, Micro history, Subaltern perspective, Oral history, Local history Environmental history, Structuralism, Post structuralism Post modernism and Post-colonial criticism
g) Understand the importance of Social theory in History
In the present context a more important outcome to be expected from the student is understand the fertile plurality of Indian culture and tradition and the Cultural symbiosis in India that developed through the ages. It is these objectives and outcomes in mind that the courses of program of History have been designed and the contents have been fixed.

Programme Objectives:
